During my one-month stay in Indonesia, I gained valuable insights, experienced immense enjoyment, and found deep inspiration through the country's rich culture, diverse cuisine, and the kindness of its people—especially those in the city of Semarang. In this reflection, I would like to share some of the meaningful experiences and memorable moments that shaped my time in Indonesia.
NASI AYAM ORAK ARIK NUGGETS INDOMIE SPECIAL

"Nasi Ayam Orak Arik Nuggets Indomie Special"—at first glance, this phrase clearly refers to a variety of popular Indonesian foods. However, for me, it represents far more than just culinary delight. It became a meaningful and symbolic phrase during my stay in Indonesia, one that I hold close to my heart.
This phrase served as a code name created and shared between us and our student buddies. These individuals were not merely assigned companions, but genuine friends who significantly shaped our experience. They taught us not only about Indonesian culture and daily life but also demonstrated kindness, generosity, and a spirit of togetherness that we never expected but deeply appreciated.
I am sincerely grateful to these remarkable individuals who turned a simple food reference into a symbol of connection, unity, and cross-cultural friendship. Although it began playfully, it came to represent a bond that transcended cultural boundaries and developed into a meaningful and lasting friendship.
Even after returning to the Philippines, this phrase has continued to bring me comfort and strength. It has helped ease the sense of longing I feel and has served as a source of motivation, particularly during challenging times. Remarkably, when I faced my mock board examination without prior review, recalling this phrase gave me confidence and focus. Fortunately, I was able to achieve a score well above average. Credits to our founder marlowe for making this codename.
To Reza, Ifi, and Fafa, and to my fellow student interns Marlowe, Iza, and Nicole—"Aku cinta kamu" and "Terima kasih banyak". You will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for being an unforgettable part of my journey.
REZA's BIRTHDAY SURPRISE + BATIK MAKING

During our stay in Indonesia, we had the opportunity to surprise our student buddy on his birthday. It was one of the most memorable moments of our visit, particularly when we witnessed his genuine and heartfelt reaction. His happiness was truly evident and deeply touching. On the same day, we were honored to be invited by UNISSULA to participate in a batik-making activity alongside European students. It was a valuable privilege to experience and explore the intricacies of their traditional textile art. Although I initially assumed it would be simple, I quickly realized how complex and skillful the process truly is.
P_MAT UNISSULA INTERVIEW

On the second day of our stay in Indonesia, we had our first opportunity to meet with the students and teachers during a small talk program. Prior to the event, one of my student buddies, Fafa, along with a mathematics broadcaster named Muhammad, approached me for an interview. Initially, I assumed the interview would involve all of us. However, as the conversation progressed, I inquired once more, only to be surprised that I was the sole participant selected for the interview.
At that moment, I experienced a mixture of emotions—happiness, nervousness, and self-doubt. I questioned whether I would be able to handle the interview properly or respond to the questions appropriately. As it was my first time being interviewed, especially by a host school of international standing, I felt both honored and slightly overwhelmed by the unexpected responsibility.
Fortunately, the interview went smoothly, largely due to the interviewer’s humble and calm demeanor. His friendly and respectful approach helped ease my anxiety and created a comfortable atmosphere. Overall, this experience was truly unforgettable. It was my first international interview—unexpected yet meaningful—and I will always carry with me the pride and gratitude of having been given such an opportunity.
