TEACHING PLAN

As a teacher, it is important to have a teaching plan, also known as a lesson plan. This plan ensures that the teaching process is accurate, organized, and well-prepared. It also helps me track the progress of my lessons and identify which parts need improvement in order to achieve a smooth flow. To me, a lesson plan is like a backbone that supports a successful and well-structured lesson.

During my teaching experience at SMP ISLAM AL AZHAR 14 SEMARANG, I used their lesson plan format, which was new to me. Back in the Philippines, we used a different style of lesson planning. At first, I struggled to adapt, but with the help of my cooperating teacher, I was able to craft lesson plans that helped me organize my teaching more effectively.

I must say their lesson plan is unique compared to what I'm used to. One notable difference is the inclusion of IMTAQ (spiritual and moral values) in every lesson. Unlike in the Philippines, where it is acceptable to proceed without writing a new lesson plan when administering just an activity, at Al Azhar, even an activity requires a dedicated lesson plan. This helped me understand the importance of thorough planning in every teaching situation.

Because of this experience, I have developed a deeper appreciation for lesson planning. It has become second nature to me to prepare a lesson plan for every class I handle. SMP AL AZHAR 14 SEMARANG has taught me a lot and helped me grow as an educator.
